Installation, set-up and transmisión via SHOUTcast manual.

1. Installation WinAmp Set-up

1. Download the latest WinAmp versión from the following link: http://www.winamp.com/player/
2. Begin the installation process by double-clicking on the downloaded executable file from within the folder you saved it to.
3. Follow on-screen instructions until the installation is finished.

SHOUTCast Installation

1. Once WinAmp is installed, download the latest SHOUTcast plug-in version from the following URL:
   http://www.interdesa.com/downloads/shoutcast-dsp-1-9-0-windows.exe
2. Begin the installation by double-clicking on the downloaded file,
   shoutcast-dsp-1-9-0-windows.exe from within the folder you saved it to.
3. When the installation window pops up, at the “Select the type of install” dialog, you must select the “Default” option.
4. Follow on-screen instructions until the installation is finished.

2. Setting up SHOUTCast

1. Open WinAmp.
2. Press CTRL+P to bring up the Preferences Menu.
3. At the “Plug-ins / DSP / Effect” section, select “Nullsoft SHOUTcast Source DSP v.1.9.0 [dsp_sc.dll]”
4. The SHOUTCast Source window will pop-up.
5. In the “Output” tab, there are 3 buttons: “Connect”, “Connection” and “Yellow Pages”.
6. Click on the “Connection” button and type in the following information:
   
   • Adress: [Check this information on the customer’s attached data]
   • Port: [Check this information on the customer’s attached data]
   • Password: [Check this information on the customer’s attached data]
   • Encoder: 1
   • The “Automatic Reconnection on Connection Failure” checkbox must be checked. Reconnection Timeout: 30 Seconds
   
   
7. Press the “Yellow Pages” button and type in the following information: We recommend checking the “Make this server public (Recommended)” checkbox so that your radio will be listed in the SHOUTcast online directory.
   
   • Description: A title and a description of your radio can be typed in here. A maximum of 100 characters is recommended. This text will show on the listener’s players, and on the SHOUTcast directory to describe the radio. For example:
   ”My Radio - Drum and bass, Psy, Goa, Trance, House, IDM.”
   • URL: Link to the radio station’s website. Example: “http://www.radioenlinea.com/”
   • Genre: Types of music being played. This information is very useful for listeners to search for their favorite genres and find radios in the SHOUTcast directory. It is recommended to use English in this field. Example: “News, Talk”, “Drum And Bass”, “Country”, “Hip Hop, Breakbeat”, etc.
   • Track Title/URL: Check all three boxes below this tab.
   
   
8. At the “Encoder” tab, select “Encoder 1”, at “Encoder Type” select “MP3 Encoder” and at “Encoder Settings” choose the same quality you chose when applying with us. For example, the basic package is: “24kbps, 22.050kHz, Mono”.
   
   NOTE: using qualities higher than the ones specified in the package will result in a surcharge in the service billing.
   
9. At the “Input” tab, you can choose one of the following options:
   
   • If you want to broadcast using WinAmp (MP3): Select at “Input Device” the option “Winamp (Recommended)”
   • If you wish to broadcast a live event or from a booth: Select at “Input Device” the option “Soundcard Input”. This way, the incoming audio on the recording / playback device selected in the Windows Mixer will be broadcasted. For example, if you wish to broadcast from a mixer or FM radio station, you will have to run a cable from that device to your soundcard’s line-in jack, then select that line-in jack as the recording device and check “Soundcard Input” at the SHOUTcast set-up dialog.

3. Broadcasting

• Remember that to activate and de-activate the SHOUTCast plug-in, you must press CTRL+P in WinAmp, go to the “Plug-ins / DSP / Effect” section and select:
  “Nullsoft SHOUTcast Source DSP v.1.9.0 [dsp_sc.dll]” to activate it or (none) to de-activate it.
• To broadcast, once the SHOUTcast window is open, check the box labeled “Output” and finally press the “Connect” button.
